Candida Spit Test Defined
According to a recent survey, up to 85% of Americans may have Candidiasis, so how do you determine whether you’re one of them or not? The most common and easy method of detection of a yeast infection is the Candida Spit Test. This is a simple test that you can try out at home. Also known as the Candida Saliva Test, this test is capable of determining whether you have too much fungal yeast present in your saliva or not. The test was devised by a multi-million dollar company by the name of Global Health Trax. The corporation is involved in selling concentrated dried yogurt in the form of a product known as ThreeLac®.Candida is one of the most commonly occurring yeast infections. The condition arises when there is an overgrowth of a certain type of fungus or yeast in the body, such as Candida albicans. Under favorable conditions, the yeast multiplies so fast that it causes yeast infections, or Candidiasis. The infection can take place anywhere in the body, but it is commonly present in moist and warm areas such as nail infections, beds, diaper rashes, underneath female breasts, and genital areas.
To undergo this test, you need a glass of clean water; use filtered water or spring water. Right after you get up from bed and before brushing your teeth or putting anything into your mouth, you should gather some saliva and spit it into the clear glass filled with water. Let the water rest for about 5-10 minutes before looking at it.
There are three indications that you have a Candida problem:
- when the water inside the glass turns turns cloudy and have suspended specks in it,
- when your saliva is cloudy and sinks to the bottom of the glass
- when there are strings or legs coming down from the saliva floating on top
Healthy saliva will always float on the surface of the water without turning cloudy or developing strings/legs.
Although this is an unscientific test, it is quite accurate. This is because overproduction of Candida takes place in the intestinal tract first. From here, the excessive yeast migrates through the mucous membranes of the digestive tract and up the esophagus, finally landing in the mouth. When the yeast becomes very thick, it appears on the mouth and tongue as a white film, which is also known as oral thrush. Thus, if there is fungal yeast present in your mouth, such as a case of oral Candidiasis, or “thrush,” then some of it would inevitably mix with the saliva, which is why it is easy to detect the same through the Candida Spit Test.
After taking the Candida Spit Test, if you find that you have a Candida problem then you should immediately consult a doctor and get lab tests done. This will accurately determine whether you have this condition or not. Doctors generally advise their patients to go for three tests in this case: the blood test, stool analysis and the urine Tartaric Acid test. Once a Candida overgrowth is diagnosed in your body through these tests, you should enroll yourself for a Candida treatment program immediately to get the condition treated. One good option is to embark on a Candida diet, so as to eliminate your yeast infection.
